"Drawing: Fun with Portraits" is coming up at the "Drawing: Fun with Portraits" is coming up at the end of the February, Tues mornings 10am-12pm.

This class will be a mix of fun and interesting portrait drawing exercises designed to increase your drawing skills.

Learn from copying photos or masters drawings and by drawing your own self portrait. We will also focus in on how to draw features.

Drawing portraits are the best for honing your drawing skills as proportions or values need to be accurate to make a fade look realistic (as compared to drawing a tree for example).

Last year we did a "Chuck Close" portrait and a Pop Art Portrait as well.

All classes are at Cloud 9 Wellness, downtown Courtenay. Register, or find more info at www.tracykobus.com (link on homepage).

This painting was inspired by wetlands close to where I live and often go mountain biking.

I recently stopped at one to watch a kingfisher fishing (I think my favorite bird). But I've also seen beaver, ducks or herons at these spots too. I also love the reflections which bring a scene of colour to an otherwise undescript and recovering second growth forest.

Original will be part of May/June exhibit @tintown.cafe and prints or cards will also be in my online shop soon.

You may read more about my inspiration behind this painting in my latest blogpost on my website - link on homepage.
Some most recent and/or most popular heart cards o Some most recent and/or most popular heart cards over the years. I do these smaller heart paintings as a side series to other work. I have fun coming up with as many variations on the theme I can think of.

February is heart or Valentine's month so will keep the gift shops stocked!

Also find online (visit my website homepage), free shipping of cards in Canada.
