Night Lights, 2021

This painting was inspired by photos of my friend Odete’s trip to Haida Gwaii.  I was drawn to how the tents glowed like lights and the large trees stood like guardians in the background.

Odete purchased the painting immediately upon seeing it and wrote: This painting is particularly meaningful to me. This summer my friends and I were in Gwaii Haanas with Green Coast Kayaking. I posted one image on social media of a beautiful night sky in Carpenter Bay, which was taken by Bruce Taylor (fellow kayaker from Manitoba). He generously shared a few of his photos and Tracy created this painting which beautifully captures restorative time in the wonderous natural environment, with lovely people. Thank you Tracy.
