The Watcher, 2022

We came across this old tree snag in the alpine, near the Bedwell Lakes in Strathcona Park, Vancouver Island.  I find these ancient trees to be so expressive with human like features – almost like they are trying to communicate with us.  I was also amazed at the size of this sun-bleached white snag as there were no other trees around nearly that size.  It made me think that as a young tree, it may have been present when the earliest people visited that area.  If it indeed could speak, what would it have to say?
