Source (Mt. Septimus), 2022

This painting loosely depicts a hiking area in Strathcona Park, Vancouver Island – Septimus Mountain sits in the background. Visiting the mountains and being surrounded by a large protected landscape helps keep my life in perspective as I am reminded of just how small I am. It is also enlightening to visit the source of all the streams that feed our rivers, give us water to drink and sustain the salmon and many others species. For these reasons it is important this area remains sacred – a place for us to visit and receive spiritual sustenance.
