Forest 2014

In this painting an inviting red sofa chair sits within a forest and is accompanied by cheerful white trilliums, flowers I enjoy every spring in a park near my house.     The surrounding trees feel comforting and protective. By putting the red living room chair in the forest I am welcoming the viewer into the painting and also expressing how one might feel at home and like themselves in nature.
