Some more photos from our trip to northern Spain, Some more photos from our trip to northern Spain, this part is in the Picos de Europas, one of Spain's national parks. Our friend Jolie who has been on a student exchange, joined us.

The Picos mountains are mostly limestone, kinda reminded me of Yosemite. What makes this park so unique is that humans live in it too, in little villages, tending to goat herds and cows and making their famous blue cheese. We stayed in one of the villages, Puertas, where we maybe saw five residents, you can hear cow bells all around.

We went on the popular Ruta del Cares hike, which is a little insane. The path is fairly wide but you are on a high cliff edge most of the time. Would not be good if you had vertigo. To add to the scene, there are super friendly goats everywhere, that want to lick your legs, and eat your food if you don't watch.

Spain has been full of amazing surprises!
Few random street shots from Santander and Bilbao, Few random street shots from Santander and Bilbao, Spain - there are shops there that only sell Iberian ham.

As well it is so pedestrian friendly and bike/scooter friendly here, including several pedestrian bridges going over the river in Bilbao. The wide boardwalks seem to go on forever.
