Drawing: Fun with Portraits

PREREQUISITE: “Drawing: The Right Approach” or equivalent experience.

Human portraits have been a popular subject matter for artists throughout history. In this class have fun drawing realistic and abstract portraits of your own. Study how to draw features, find accurate proportions, and create strong values, using masters drawings and photographs for reference. As well, you will experiment with contours, colour and texture to create a unique abstract portrait. Materials used will be graphite, charcoal, pastel and pen.
